1. GOLDEN TEMPLE, AMRITSAR

The Golden Temple located in Amritsar, Punjab, is the first name among the religious places to feed delicious langar for free. Langar is organized every day in this temple, in which people of every religion and caste are allowed to sit and eat. Lentils and rotis are made for about 50,00,000 people every day in the Golden Temple. The specialty of this temple is that here not only the servants of the temple but also the common people come and help in the work of making rotis, which are served here. It is called giving. No devotee brings sweets as Prasad to the temple but offers halwa made of flour and ghee, which is distributed among the devotees who come here.

2. VAISHNO DEVI, JAMMU AND KASHMIR

From the year 2019, langar is being arranged in the court of Mata Vaishno Devi. At that time langar of Vaishno Devi is served continuously. This langar remains open for 24 hours a day. Langar at Vaishno Devi is served at Tarakot, 3 km from Katra. It is said that every day around 8500 people eat food in Vaishno Devi's langar. Dal, rice, and Ambal, the traditional food of Jammu, are served in the langar here.

3. TIRUPATI BALAJI, ANDHRA PRADESH

Tirupati Balaji is considered to be the richest God. Lakhs of devotees come here every year to have a darshan of the Lord and donate valuables to the temple. There is also a langar arrangement for the devotees in the Tirupati temple, whose devotees do not forget to take the delicious prasad. Tirupati's langar is called Annadanam, which is served on a banana leaf. Here chutney is served with sambar, rice, and vegetables in the langar.

4. SAI BABA TEMPLE, SHIRDI

No devotee returns empty-handed from the court of Sai Baba of Shirdi. In terms of space, it is claimed that Shirdi Sai Prasadalaya is the largest Prasadalaya in Asia. Food is prepared for about 1 lakh people daily in this Prasadalaya. In the Prasadalaya, 5500 people can sit and eat food at a time. Food distribution starts at this Prasadalaya from 10 am. Every day a simple yet delicious meal is served at the Prasadalaya which includes rice, roti, dal, two types of vegetables, and a sweet.

5. JAGANNATH TEMPLE, ODISHA

Lord Jagannath is considered to be the most merciful God who cannot see his devotees hungry. The Rasoi of the Jagannath Temple at Puri in Odisha is a mega kitchen where food is prepared for around 80,000 people every day. The food here is steamed in a very unique way in an earthen pot. It is said that the food here is cooked by Mahalakshmi herself, the cooks and helpers only help her. The Prasad of Jagannath Temple is called Mahaprasad, which includes rice, khichdi, vegetables, kheer, sweets, etc.

6. ISKCON TEMPLE, MAYAPUR

The ISKCON temple located at Mayapur in the Nadia district of West Bengal is the largest ISKCON temple in the world. Not for free here, but delicious langar food is available at a very low cost. You have to buy a ticket for this. Lunch is available in the temple for Rs 50-60 and dinner for Rs 40-50. Coupons for both timings have to be purchased before lunch and dinner.
